SALT LAKE CITY -- A man accused of purposely sneaking a deadly weapon onto an airplane has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Cardon C. Ellis, 27, was indicted on federal grand jury charges of one count of possession of a dangerous weapon while attempting to board an aircraft.
Court documents say that last month Ellis bragged to another passenger that he got a knife past security. That passenger then told TSA officials, who found the knife on Ellis' person.
If convicted, Ellis could spend 10 years in prison.
