LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Logan city officials say they've completed a six-year revision of the overall development blueprint for their city.
The Herald Journal reported Thursday that the general plan presented during a joint City Council and Planning Commission meeting late Tuesday would govern how projects in various areas of the city will be developed in years to come.
The work was headed by retiring planning chief Jay Nielsen and still needs final approval.
It adopts a concept that city Planning Manager Glen Goins calls "place-based."
Goins says the aim is to make neighborhoods and commercial areas compatible.
He says the new document integrates zoning codes and design guidelines to become what he calls requirements instead of suggestions.
