UTAH COUNTY -- Just when drivers started getting used to all the construction along Interstate 15 in Utah County, some upcoming closures will make things a little busy.
SB I-15 in Orem restricted to 2 lanes for pothole repair
November 29 - December 3:
Orem 800 North closed nightly for bridge work
November 30 - December 3:
Orem 2000 South closed for bridge demolition
December 4-5:
I-15 at American Fork 500 East closed overnight for bridge demolition
December 4-5:
I-15 at Lehi Main Street closed overnight for bridge work
Lane restrictions start Tuesday night in Orem, followed by lane closures this weekend in Lehi and American Fork.
Traffic was still flowing at 800 North in Orem under I-15 Tuesday evening, but one look at the cranes, the orange signs and all that equipment show the Utah Department of Transportation is getting ready for major work along the corridor.
"We're placing some girders," said Scott Thompson with UDOT. "They will have a couple lanes restricted to get equipment and stuff on the freeway."
Thompson said traffic will be down to one lane Tuesday night on I-15 at 800 North in Orem. While crews get the bridge girders into place, 800 North will be closed where it crosses beneath I-15 as well. If necessary, it will also be closed Wednesday night.
It all depends on the weather, which has already pushed a few dates back.

"Weather has impacted everything, and we've had to make some adjustments to cut time frames," Thompson said. "We want to make sure we have a good day, a clear day, a warm enough day to do things, so we're looking at weather every day."
The big closures will take place this weekend. I-15 will be completely closed in Lehi at Main Street and in American Fork at 500 East starting at 11 p.m. Saturday. It will reopen at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, close again at 11 Sunday night, then reopen early Monday morning.
Traffic will be diverted to off and on ramps at both locations.
All of this, of course, depends on the weather.
