CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- Hikers who set out to cut a Christmas tree on Cedar Mountain found a decomposed body, and the Iron County sheriff's office is investigating the death as suspicious.
Iron County Sheriff Mark Gower said the body, which has not been identified, was found on Saturday and appeared to have been there at least a year. A firearm was also located nearby.
It is the second suspicious death investigation for local authorities in a week. On Nov. 21, the Cedar City Fire Department found the body of Daniel Jace Baily, 28, in a burning car just south of town.
