(KSL News) -- A Utah man is among six rescued from the Andes Mountains.
Salt Lake resident Dan Smith was with five others climbing up the Andes when a natural dam collapsed. It created mudslides and washed out trails and forced the climbers to take refuge at an abandoned mining camp.
They had been stranded since November 17th, about nine thousand feet up on Argentina's Mount Mercedario.
Family members said the group had little food, but all are reportedly in good health.
