TOOELE -- Tooele students got an up-close and personal look Tuesday at how wind power works.

The Tooele Army Depot gave 80 fifth- and sixth-graders a tour of its 262-foot-tall wind turbine, which has blades that stretch 126 feet long.

The turbine produces enough electricity to power more than 300 homes, saving the depot more than $200,000 a year.
