Randall Jeppesen, KSL Newsradio Fire destroyed 200 packages on the way to be delivered by UPS.
A UPS delivery truck caught on fire, and investigators want to know how it started.
The trucks were just about to head out with the day's deliveries when one employee saw something strange. He said, "When it was loaded, she looked in there and saw that it was smoking. And then it caught fire."
A package burst into flames. Soon the entire truck had turned into what Orem Fire Capt. Spencer Edwards calls an intensely hot oven. "The whole roof of the truck melted and burned off and fell into the cargo area," said Edwards.
The warehouse sprinkler system along with firefighters put out the flames.
The fire destroyed one delivery truck and damaged the sides of two other trucks.
UPS is using tracking numbers to contact customers who should have been getting a delivery today to let them know what happened.
