MORONI -- An 11-year-old girl was killed Thursday morning in Moroni while she was on her way to school.
Moroni Police Chief Tim Hunsaker says the accident occurred about 8 a.m. near Moroni Elementary School.
The girl was riding her bike to school when a man driving a minivan went through an intersection and hit her in an unmarked crosswalk. She was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center where she died.
Police are not releasing names because the investigation is ongoing. Hunsaker says the driver, who was cited, reports that he didn't see the girl.
