CLINTON -- An assault suspect led police on a chase before he crashed his car and was arrested.

Police say the suspect assaulted another man during a fight at a party in Clinton. The suspect drove off before police arrived.

Officers spotted his car in the same neighborhood just before midnight and tried to stop it.

The suspect led police on a chase through the neighborhood, and then drove onto some nearby railroad tracks at 75 W. 250 North, where he crashed his car.

The suspect tried to flee but police caught him a short time later.
