(KSL News) -- Salt Lake County Sheriff's Deputies will be getting a raise.
Last night the county council voted to increase deputy pay by 5.5 percent. Sergeants will get a nearly three percent increase.
Sheriff Arron Kennard had wanted the council to approve an eleven percent increase, saying the department was losing personnel due to low pay.
