OREM, Utah (AP) -- A Timpanogos High graduate says it was the perfect way to end high school.

When Seth Church took the stage at his school's commencement exercises yesterday a special visitor stepped forward to hand him his diploma.

His father, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Church, who was deployed to Afghanistan almost a year ago, returned in time to present his son with his diploma.

The traditional hand shake turned into a bear hug for the father and son.

Seth knew his dad would be home in time to attend his graduation, but didn't expect him to present the diploma.

While he was deployed, another of Robert Church's sons earned his Eagle Scout award and Seth earned a scholarship to Brigham Young University.

He says this was his way of participating in Seth's senior year.
