RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov 14 (AFP) - More than 1,000 bottles of champagne have been ordered for the wedding of Athina Onassis, the last remaining descendant of legendary Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, the Istoe Dinheiro weekly reported Monday.

The 20-year-old granddaughter of Onassis, one of the richest women in the world, is to marry Alvaro Alfonso de Miranda, also known as "Doda", the 31-year-old son of a Brazilian industrialist, in Sao Paulo on December 3.

The two families have tried to keep the event as secret as possible, including the venue, according to the report.

All the suppliers have had to sign a contract under which they cannot give interviews to the press and will have to pay damages if they breach the deal.

Istoe said more than 1,000 bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne had been ordered for the 750 guests, who have been told to park their cars at a special park. They will then be driven to the wedding venue.

Athina Onassis, who inherited a fortune estimated at three billion dollars after her mother, Christina Onassis, died in 1988 from a drug overdose, has been with Doda for two years.

Her future husband won an equestrian bronze medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2004. Doda has a five year old daughter from a previous relationship and has been based in Brussels for several years.
