SALT LAKE CITY -- Former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson says he wants Democrat Jim Matheson out of office.

The outspoken liberal says Utah's 2nd District congressman has let his party down, voting along the fence on too many issues and against his party.

"That's why I think we're probably better off if we have a Republican there than somebody who keeps undermining our own party when it comes to the most fundamental Democratic kinds of principles," Anderson says.

Still, Matheson's people say the Democratic Party is behind Matheson 100 percent.

Regardless, Anderson says, like usual, he'll write in someone on this year's ballot. His favorite candidate: SpongeBob SquarePants.
