SPANISH FORK -- Six Alaskan Malamute puppies taken from a Spanish Fork home are now safe and sound with their owner.

The puppies' owner, Zach Haycock, couldn't be happier to have all six puppies back home.

"I doubted a lot that I'd get them back," he said. "I was kind of accepting I'd never see them again, and now it's overwhelming to have them all home again."

Haycock got a call from police saying officers had found four of the puppies in Brigham City and two were found in the Salt Lake area.

Spanish Fork police say those who had the puppies learned they were stolen from news reports and called police. Those people are not suspects.

Two of the puppies disappeared in the early hours of Oct. 3 from a kennel in the Haycock's backyard. Four more were taken the following Sunday around the same time.

He says the puppies are happy and healthy. He took them to the vet to make sure they were OK; though one did have a minor infection and is undergoing surgery.

Zach says he's grateful for the support and help in finding the puppies.

"Just thanks to the community for keeping an eye out and all the support," he said. "I've had a lot of calls of people seeing suspicious puppies being sold off the street. I'd just like to say thanks to the community, press and police for helping me to get them back."

Zach says a few of the puppies still need homes. Until they can be sold, he says he will keep them inside.

Police are still investigating who took the puppies.
