Stars line up to see 'Jersey Boys'

NEW YORK, Nov 10, 2005 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, numerous cast members from "The Sopranos" and three original Four Seasons turned out to see the new Broadway musical, "Jersey Boys."

Celebrated by most New York critics, the show is about the birth and life of one of the most popular U.S. singing groups of all time.

It opened Sunday at the August Wilson Theatre and sold more than $1 million in single ticket sales between Sunday and Wednesday morning.

Attending the show's opening night were original Four Seasons members Tommy Devito, Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio.

Danny Aiello, Frankie Avalon, Dick Cavett, David Chase, New Jersey Gov. Richard Codey, Jamie-Lynn Discala, Edie Falco, Dennis Farina, Joanna Gleason, Michael Imperioli, John Lithgow, Elaine May, Cousin Brucie Morrow, Bebe Neuwirth, Vincent Pastore, Neil Sedaka, Paul Shaffer, Tony Sirico, Tommy Tune, Steve Tyrell, Steve Van Zandt and Frank Vincent also attended the star-studded event.

The real Frankie Valli is scheduled to discuss his career and the musical on MSNBC-TV Nov. 13.
