SALT LAKE CITY -- Hyundai's Hope on Wheels program donated $100,000 to Primary Children's Medical Center to support childhood cancer research and commemorate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The donation was given by local Hyundai dealers and Hyundai Hope on Wheels representatives as a Hope Grant to the hospital Thursday. Childhood cancer patients and their families joined doctors, administrators and staff from Primary Children's Medical Center to receive the award before officials from Hyundai were given a tour of the cancer research lab at the hospital.
Hyundai's Hope on Wheels is a united effort that includes over 800 Hyundai dealers nationwide. The program raises awareness and celebrates the lives of childhood cancer patients.
By the end of the year, the program will have donated $23 million to children's hospitals and organizations across the country since its founding in 1998.
