SALT LAKE CITY -- Patients at Primary Children's Medical Center stepped away from their hospital beds Thursday to make a mess of a new car.

The kids slapped their paint-dipped hands on a brand new, white Hyundai as part of the Hope on Wheels program, which is aimed at fighting childhood cancer.

Every time a new Hyundai is purchased in the United States, $5 will be donated to the program.

"For us, it feels like it's a great opportunity to be involved, not only in the community, but for these kids that suffer and for these families that suffer so much," said Blake Murdock, of Murdock Hyundai.

Utah Hyundai dealers also donated $35,000 to the hospital Thursday.
