SAN DIEGO - San Diego State Aztec's junior quarterback Ryan Lindley lit up the Utah State Aggie defense for 362 yards passing Saturday night. Most of the pain was administered in the first half with the Aztecs scoring 28 points before halftime.

The offense did not do much to ease the pain, ending the game with only seven points. In fact, Lindley out-gained the entire Aggie offense by 117 yards.

"No matter if the defense is giving up points, we have to go out there and do our job and concentrate on what we have to do," senior quarterback Diondre Borel said.

The Aztecs seemed to have their way with the mobile quarterback, allowing him only five net yards rushing.

"We had certain protection breakdowns that could have gotten fixed and changed a little at halftime," Borel said. "At the end of the day, the offense has to perform regardless of what's going on the field."

One positive was that the Aggies held the Aztecs star running back Ronnie Hillman under 100 yards. He ended the game with only 89 yards rushing, but Head Coach Gary Andersen was not the least bit satisfied.

"I don't know how you look at this game and have a bright spot. We struggled to say the least." Andersen said. "They are a good football team."

After two solid games to start the season, the Aggies have played subpar football the last two games. Utah State has allowed 41 points against both Fresno State and San Diego State and has scored a combined 31 points in those two games.

The Aggies, now 1-3, would love to get a win at home against rival BYU to gain some momentum before heading into the conference schedule.
