SALT LAKE COUNTY -- Police are looking for a man who stole two purses from women as they pumped gasoline into their cars.

The first woman was at Smith's at 5600 West and 13400 South in Herriman around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning when a car drove up next to hers. A man opened her passenger's side door, grabbed her purse and took off.

About 15 minutes later, the same thing happened at a Maverik gas station near 2700 West and 12600 South in Riverton.

In both cases, the suspect got away in a gold Ford Escape. Don Hutson with Unified Police say detectives have a partial plate number and are currently searching for the suspect.
