OGDEN -- The Ogden City Council voted Tuesday night to make the sale, possession and use of marijuana substitute spice illegal.
The ordinance passed unanimously, followed by applause from about 50 concerned citizens at the meeting.
Spice is an herbal concoction that produces a high similar to marijuana's. It has been causing problems and frustrating law enforcement throughout the city.
Ogden Mayor Matthew Godfrey says he will sign the ordinance in the next few days and enforcement will begin immediately.
