PARK CITY -- Two burglary suspects were arrested after they crashed their car while running from police.
According to Summit County Sheriff Dave Edmunds, the two men broke into a home in Jeremy Ranch around 3 p.m. Sunday. A neighbor, who knew the owners of the home were out of town, called for help when he saw the men go inside.
The neighbor told dispatchers he saw the men taking electronics from the house and loading them into a 2001 Ford Explorer. The suspects took off just as deputies arrived.
The deputies tried to pull the men over, but they did not comply. Instead, the driver tried to ram the deputy attempting the stop. The suspects eventually crashed the Explorer into a landscape retaining wall on Sackett Drive and took off on foot.
Deputies were able to catch the men. They arrested 19-year-old Sebastian T. Carter of Midvale and 19-year-old Tres Dimick of West Jordan. Deputies say the Explorer used in the burglary had been reported stolen from Magna Saturday.
Both men were booked into the Summit County Jail on suspicion of felony burglary and theft. Carter, who was driving the Explorer during the chase, also faces charges of aggravated assault and possession of a stolen vehicle.
