(KSL News) -- Utah Transit Authority broke ground today on a new TRAX station. The 9400 South stop will give riders access to Jordan Commons, the Southtowne Expo Center, and the future Real Salt Lake Stadium.

Ground Broken for New Trax Station

It's not a park-and-ride stop, but a drop off destination station. Officials hope the new station will relieve congestion in the area.

Congressman Jim Matheson, Sandy City mayor Tom Dolan, and Larry Miller attended the ground-breaking for the 2- million dollar station.
