(KSL News) A TRAX train smashed into a car this afternoon at 500 South and 1100 East.
Police say the black Volkswagen tried to turn left in front of the train at an area clearly marked as a no left turn intersection.
Two people inside the car, including a young boy and a man in his sixties, were ejected. Another man had to be extricated.
All three were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The boy had severe cuts on his leg. Nobody on the train was injured.
The accident is still under investigation, but all TRAX lines are now running on schedule.
