WASATCH COUNTY -- Officials say a helmet could have saved the life of an Orem man killed in an ATV crash Saturday.
Ranger Drew Patterson with Utah State Parks says 25-year-old Brady Price was driving with a 26-year-old passenger around 2 p.m. on a dirt road near Daniels Summit. They took a turn too fast and hit a tree.
Neither man was wearing a helmet.
Patterson says emergency crews arrived at the scene about 25 minutes later and tried to revive Price, but he died at the scene. The 26-year-old passenger complained of chest and groin pain but refused medical care.
The men had been camping in the area for the statewide Archery Elk and Deer Hunt. Patterson says alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Price's body was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office for toxicology tests and to determine the exact cause of death.
