ST. GEORGE -- Police in St. George seized more than $900,000 worth of heroin during a traffic stop on Interstate 15 early Friday.
St. George police Capt. James Van Fleet says an officer stopped Ruben Castro and Delaney Haughton, both of California, just after 1 a.m. for driving an uninsured car. When the officer questioned the pair, their answers were inconsistent.
A K-9 drug dog was brought in and alerted the officer of the presence of drugs. Police searched the vehicle and discovered over 10 pounds of heroin in the back of the car.
Castro and Haughton were arrested on charges of drug distribution and possession.
