SANDY, Utah (AP) -- Javier Morales scored twice to lead Real Salt Lake to a 2-0 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday night, extending its franchise-record home unbeaten streak to 21 regular-season games.

The league record is 22, held by the Crew.

Morales scored in the 11th minute, firing a shot from the top left corner of the penalty box off the far post and past goalkeeper William Hesmer.

In the 60th minute, Morales ripped a low free kick to the right of the defensive wall and under a diving Hesmer's outstretched left hand.

The victory allowed RSL (11-4-6) to equal its single-season record of 11 wins, while moving into second place behind the Los Angeles Galaxy, with 39 points.

The Crew (11-5-4) are close behind with 37 points.
