(Press Release)OGDEN -- The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) advises motorists of the following road construction and maintenance activities that could cause traffic impacts in the state's Northern Region:
Davis County
North Salt Lake
Aug 13-19: Traffic is now in its final configuration through the ExpressLinks project in North Salt Lake. Crews are now taking care of final items needed to complete this project. Motorists should keep this in mind as they pass through the area between the Salt Lake County line and 600 North by being watchful for vehicles and workers throughout the project alongside the open lanes of traffic, and stay within the speed limit. Some exits and ramps will still close for short periods in the next few months to facilitate the final touch-up work on the project. On August 23, the new Express Lanes electronic tolling system will go active. For more information about that, go to http://www.udot.utah.gov/expresslanes/.
Woods Cross
Aug 13-19: Crews on 500 South (SR-68) are pouring concrete at various locations throughout the corridor, along the south side of the road. Motorists should reduce speed, be aware of their surroundings, and watch for workers and equipment adjacent to open lanes of travel. For more information, call the 500 South Construction Hotline at 801-904-4112, or e-mail davis500south@utah.gov.
Bountiful
Aug 13-19: Concrete pavement rehabilitation is being conducted on I-15, between Bountiful and Farmington. Week night lane closures occur Monday through Friday from 9:30 p.m. until 7 a.m. northbound, and from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. southbound. On weekends, the lane closures are from 9:30 p.m. on Friday to 7 a.m. on Monday northbound, and from 7 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday southbound. Lane closures will vary from one to two lanes depending on the work taking place. All work is preceded by electronic messaging signs or arrow signs, indicating which lanes are closed ahead. Motorists with time-sensitive travel are encouraged to use the Legacy Parkway as an alternate to I-15.
Farmington
Aug 13-19: Crews are constructing a realignment of SR-106 (Main Street), from the Farmington Creek Bridge to Park Lane. Crews will work each day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., constructing new roadway surface, curb and gutter, pedestrian access ramps, sidewalk, and property accesses. One lane in each direction is being maintained, with flaggers present to direct traffic as needed. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed through this area, be aware of workers and equipment working adjacent to lanes of travel, and to be prepared to stop at any time.

Aug 13-19: To accommodate bridge work on the Layton Parkway Interchange project, northbound I-15 may be restricted to up to two lanes from 8 p.m. to 11 a.m, Mondays through Saturdays and all day on Sunday. Meanwhile, southbound I-15 may also be restricted to up to two lanes from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., Mondays through Saturdays and all day on Sunday. These lane restrictions will continue to be in place periodically throughout the remainder of the interchange construction in December. For more information about this project, call (801) 990-5555, or email laytoninterchange@langdongroupinc.com.
August 21-22: Early Notification is given that nnorthbound I-15 will close at the Fort Lane exit (Exit 330), from Saturday, August 21, at 11 p.m. to Sunday, August 22, at 4 a.m., for moving the second bridge span into place as a part of the new Layton Parkway Interchange. Lane restrictions will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, with one lane closing periodically until the full closure is achieved by 11 p.m. Traffic will be detoured from SB I-15 at Fort Lane to Gentile Street then to Main Street in Layton, and motorists should follow the marked detour route. To avoid major traffic congestion in South Layton, northbound I-15 motorists with time-sensitive travel are encouraged to use US-89 (exit 324) in Farmington, traveling north to I-84 in Uintah (WB Ramp 87), and from there west to Riverdale where they will regain I-15.
