SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The renovated Salt Lake County records management and archives facility reopens today.
Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon and the Salt Lake County council are hosting an open house at the Archives located at 4505 South and 5600 West in West Valley City this afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.
The County Archives hold about 28,000 cubic feet of government records dating back to 1847. The most highly used records are tax appraisal cards and photos. The county says those records are used by real estate agents, environmental historians, genealogists and people doing home restoration.
