SALT LAKE CITY -- A Vernal teenager returned home Friday night after completing his Eagle Scout project in Africa.
Fifteen-year-old Brayden Christenson went to Kenya for two weeks. He worked with the group Koins for Kenya to raise money for materials and built 75 desks for a village and helped on other projects.
Christenson says the children welcomed his group.
"When we went over there, all the kids just were already there. Some of them said that they walked for miles just see us come," Christenson said. "They sang a big old song, and just a huge crowd there just came and saw us."
The teen's family says this was a great project for Brayden, as he's been building things his whole life.
