BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- An Idaho inmate who escaped from a work-release program in early July is being sought in connection with Thursday's robbery of a Salt Lake City bank.
Joe Dee Stang fled from the Idaho Falls Community Work Center July 3.
Now, the Idaho Department of Correction says the convicted 45-year-old burglar is a person of interest in the robbery of a Zions Bank branch in Utah's capital.
Stang had been serving sentences for burglary and malicious injury to property in Bonneville, Bannock and Bingham counties in Idaho.
He is also suspected of burglarizing an Idaho Falls business and stealing a van and a handgun after his escape. The van was found in Salt Lake City July 22.
Stang, who was eligible for parole in September 2012, is about 5-11 and 220 pounds with graying brown hair. He's considered armed and dangerous.
