(KSL News) -- Comcast teamed up with Sandy Elementary School today to help improve the students' learning environment.

Hundreds of volunteers spent the day cleaning classrooms, painting bookshelves, and beautifying the grounds. And cable was even installed in the classrooms.

This is the second year folks have helped out here.

Ray Child, Public Relations Director, Comcast in Utah: "Last year we were here for Comcast Cares Day, and we did a number of projects with over 100 people again last year to enhance the environment. And two or three weeks after we finished our projects, Sandy Elementary had that major fire. We offered to come back and help them clean up and fix up and prepare for their grand re-opening later this month."

It took the volunteers about four hours to clean up the school.
