Andrew Adams ReportingUtah's attorney general is stepping in to help one of TV's most recognizable lawmen. Duane "Dog" Chapman is a bounty hunter who is in trouble across the border.
Authorities in Mexico say Chapman skipped bail when he arrested serial rapist and Max Factor heir Andrew Luster.
Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff knows Chapman. Shurtleff says he has some connections down south and plans to use them. "I'm pretty optimistic, although I am a little concerned about who has been helping him already."
Among those who have helped Chapman are presidential hopeful Tom Tancredo and talk-show host Glen Beck. Shurtleff says, "People are using 'Dog'" I think for their anti-immigration platform."
Shurtleff says he'll do what he can to get extradition proceedings dropped when he visits Mexico in a couple weeks.
