SOUTH SALT LAKE -- Family and friends gathered to remember a young girl murdered more than two years ago.
Neighbors of the South Salt Lake apartment complex where Hser Nay Moo once lived met at park Sunday to celebrate what would have been her 10th birthday.
Everyone wrote memories and kind words on pink balloons and released them into the sky.
"It has become a positive thing," said family friend Stacey Liddiard. "The community here has really come together. We support her family. Her family is part of us and it's great to celebrate her birthday."
Hser Nay Moo disappeared in March of 2008. A day later, her body was found in the basement of a neighbor's apartment.
Her parents attend Sunday's celebration. They say it means a lot to them that the community would remember their girl.
