(KSL News) -- Smoking in public areas in Logan soon could be banned.

The city council will vote on the proposed ordinance next week, which would restrict smoking in any gathering of 50 or more people.

It would also ban smoking within 25 feet of a bus stop, and it would prohibit smoking at the Cache County Fair, Summerfest and Logan's annual sidewalk sale.

If approved, violators would face a fine.
