TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) -- Salt Lake Community College is getting more than $2.7 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Labor.

The money is part of the federal Community-based Job Training Grant awards. The $125 million in grants was awarded to 41 community colleges and other organizations. SLCC's share is $2,702,436.

The goal of the grants is to improve the ability of schools to prepare workers for employment in high growth and other emerging industries.
