SALT LAKE CITY (KSL News Services) -- The number of million dollar homes in the United States and Utah is skyrocketing. In fact, census data indicates there are now one million homes with a price tag of at least one million dollars.
Victor Rothaar with Ultimate Homes of Utah says there are 329 homes in Utah for sale with a minimum asking price of one million dollars. The most expensive home is a 29-million dollar home in Holladay. In all, Utah has more than 2,000 houses worth one million dollars.
Rothaar says million dollar homes have three things in common: Good location, size and amenities. “A million dollar house I think the luxury home buyer has come to expect a certain quality.” He says amenities will include spas, big kitchens, top of the line appliances, and other in house toys.
So far this year, 134 homes have sold for at least a million dollars in the state.
