NEW YORK, Sep 28, 2005 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The Johnny Cash-inspired musical "Ring of Fire" is moving from Buffalo, N.Y., to Broadway, its producers announced Wednesday.
The musical directed and co-written by Richard Maltby Jr. will begin performances at New York's Barrymore Theatre in February, Playbill reported.
Six actors and eight musicians bring Cash's songs to life, although no one actually portrays the country legend who died in 2003, Playbill said.
The cast includes Tony Award winner Jarrod Emick, Jeb Brown, Laurie Canaan, Jason Edwards, Dan Immel, Ron Krasinski, Jeff Lisenby, David M. Lutken, Beth Malone, Cass Morgan, Brent Moyer, Randy Redd and gospel recording artist Lari White.
