KEARNS -- Charges have been filed against the father of a 4-year-old Kearns girl who died last week.
Clinton Hart was charged with first-degree felony murder in connection with the death of his daughter, Vanessa.
Hart's girlfriend, Marina Navarro, was also charged with aggravated murder.
Vanessa was taken to the hospital after Navarro said she had fallen down the stairs. Hospital staff did not believe the child's injuries were consistent with the story, so officials were called to investigate.
Investigators determined Navarro severely beat Vanessa. The girl later died from internal and head injuries that evening.
