(KSL News) -- Salt Lake Mayor Rocky Anderson is responding to those who criticized him for protesting during President Bush's August visit, by planning another protest.
In a letter sent out today, Mayor Anderson says the rally he attended was filled with people who care about the nation and were participating in the democratic process.
He writes, "In a healthy open democracy, an insistence upon respect for the office of President can never trump the right and duty of all of us to speak out when we perceive that the President is abusing his power and taking our country on a destructive course."
Anderson reiterates his point by inviting citizens to attend a march and rally on Saturday September 24th.
