SOUTH SALT LAKE -- A wrong turn cut short a suspected thief's crime spree.

Police say a man walked into the 7-Eleven at 287 W. 3300 South at 12:30 a.m. Friday, showed the clerk a gun and demanded cash.
Once he got the money, he fled down 300 West on a motorcycle. Then he turned onto a side street that was a dead end.
When he tried to get back on the main road, the motorcycle hit a patch of gravel, skidded and crashed. Police arrived, arrested him and recovered the money.
They believe he's the same person who robbed a Chevron hours earlier.
