SALT LAKE CITY -- A new and improved MormonTimes.com re-launched this week with a cleaner layout and new features aimed at enhancing the user experience and promoting user involvement.
The redesigned site has a new user-generated section, called "YourTimes," where users can share news, perspectives on current events and faith-promoting experiences.
"Our objective has been to elegantly organize information in a very usable and friendly way," said Rob Johnson, Deseret Digital Media's LDS products manager.

One of the ways the site is "elegantly organized" is through an advanced tagging system. Users can filter articles by tags, making them easier to find. Tags also play into the search tool, providing more accurate results.
Users also have the option of creating a personal profile, allowing them to rate stories or save them to a personal archive.
"The MormonTimes.com relaunch is all about creating a trusted user experience that is edifying and helps our users access content that is relevant to their interests," said Clark Gilbert, CEO of DDM and Deseret News. "The site empowers personalized navigation."
The site encourages feedback from its users and more features will be introduced throughout 2010.
MormonTimes.com is operated by the Deseret News and Deseret Digital Media. It is not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but it is a key resource for LDS content.
