SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Department of Public Safety says a 10-year-old safety program has increased seat belt use statewide by about 500,000 motorists.
The "Click It or Ticket" campaign marks its 10th anniversary Monday. The program has helped to enforce seat belt laws and reduce highway injuries.
Statistical data shows seat belt use has increased from 67.4 percent to 86.1 over the decade since the program started.
State officials will mark the milestone -- and launch the next 10 years of the campaign -- with a ceremony at the Sandy City Hall Monday.
