(KSL News) -- Local familes with National Guard members serving overseas got a boost from the community today.
The Utah National Guard Foundation held a fair and 5-K run in West Jordan this afternoon. The goal was to raise money to help families who lose a source of income when guard members are called up.
Many of those participating in today's activities are guardsmen who recently returned from overseas.
Paul Diamond, Veteran: "If they have some type of a roof need to be repaired, something like that while they're deployed, it helps offset that cost."
The organization has already raised more than 150-thousand dollars for guard families.
