OREM -- An Orem Walmart cashier faces 160 criminal charges for giving certain customers deep discounts on merchandise.

The Daily Herald reports Orem police arrested Lelia Ingle, 26, on Monday.

Court documents say when friends would come through her line, Ingle would override the scanned prices and type in a much lower price. One man had received the unauthorized discounts 140 times since last November.

Police say the woman also printed extra receipts when customers bought expensive items. The extra receipts allegedly were used 22 times to get bogus refunds.

Walmart discovered the theft during a loss prevention investigation. Walmart says it cost the store about $8,000.

Ingle was arrested on one charge of racketeering, two misdemeanor charges of theft and 160 third-degree felony charges of theft.
