(KSL News) -- A man working on a development near Brighton fell 12 feet into a cement vault used to connect piping.
A co-worker notified authorities and rescue workers used a pulley system to lift the man out.
Officials say rescues like this are particularly dangerous because it's hard to determine what kind of toxins and pressure have built up beneath the victim.
Rescuers stabilized the man's injuries and airlifted him to a local hospital.
