SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Hundreds of members of the United Steelworkers of America are expected back to work today at U-S Magnesium Corporation after reaching a contract agreement.
More than 260 workers reached the agreement with the company on Saturday. Members of U-S-W-A Local 8319 had been on strike since September third, citing rising health care costs and what they said was the company's unwillingness to grant higher wages to help them cope.
Local 8319 president Cody Brown said the new contract includes better medical benefits.
However, he said pensions were not improved, but they didn't lose any ground on other important issues.
