SALT LAKE COUNTY -- A man was arrested after trying to pass a fake ID of a wanted man during a traffic stop.
It happened around 7:45 a.m. Saturday along a frontage road to Interstate 80 at 8400 West.
Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden says the man had been speeding, and his truck had illegal tinted windows and illegal tires.
When the trooper at the scene checked the ID 34-year-old Tracy Lee Eldredge had given him, he learned that person had multiple arrest warrants.
"It's kind of ironic that he gives you false information and [the ID] that he gives you has warrants for it," Roden told KSL Newsradio.
Roden says Eldredge actually had more warrants out under his real name.
He was taken into custody, but suffered a seizure suddenly. He was booked into jail after a checkup at the hospital.
Roden says investigators found additional fake driver's licenses in Eldredge's truck, as well as drugs and medical records belonging to other people.
"They're doing some more investigation to see if there's more to it," Roden said. "There potentially could be some more charges that go with this case."
