WOODS CROSS -- The girls basketball team at Woods Cross High School came together Thursday to honor and surprise one of their own.

In true celebratory fashion, the team presented money they raised to their teammate, Megan Ruud, to fight her cancer: pediatric Hodgkin's disease. The team also helped the Make-A-Wish present her with a trip to Paris.

Megan was mostly speechless.

"Thank you all!" she said. "I'm so grateful for everything you guys have done, and I'm looking forward to next year on the girls basketball team!"

That's something Megan can't wait for. Because of her cancer treatments, she was unable to play this year. The team wore purple shoe laces, in her honor, during every game.
