SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The University of Utah has awarded a new Mormon studies fellowship to a doctoral candidate at Boston University.

The fellowship will provide Kate Holbrook with research funding for a year. It was created to assist a chosen doctoral student researching the history, beliefs and culture of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Holbrook has a master of theological studies degree from Harvard University. She says her research project is studying the LDS food culture and how it has affected church members and their relationships with each other and people outside the faith.
