SPRINGVILLE -- A Springville man is behind bars accused of attempted murder for firing a gun at his mother repeatedly.
Police say 23-year-old David Grover fired twice at his mother Thursday in the driveway of their home near 100 West and 200 North as she was headed to her car. One bullet shattered the windshield, but his mother was uninjured.
Grover's mother, Mary, tells KSL News she wasn't running from her son. She believes he just cracked and says it may have something to do with drugs.
Officers say statements made by family members indicate Grover likely suffers from mental problems. He is now being held in the Utah County Jail.
